Support for our children knows no borders

From literacy courses to medical services, join our mission to create opportunities for the children of Dominican Republic and Haiti

Our Mission

A holistic approach to building stronger communities

Our mission is to develop healthy families with access to education and employment opportunities. Operating in the Dominican province of Peravia, our work began as a school, addressing the literacy obstacles preventing children in the area from admission to local schools, and quickly grew into a ministry that provides medical and dental services, distributes clothing, medicine and food donations, and that actively engages local governments to provide a better living for their communities.

Before the recent pandemic, we were working hard to expand our school and accommodate our growing wait list of Dominican and Haitian children in desperate need of an education. Our work has stalled as we have diverted resources to provide medical support to their families. We need your help more than ever. Learn more about our work below and how you can be a part of it.

Breaking borders and building futures

Education

Since our founding in 2012, our core objective has been to eradicate illiteracy, and we have had over 200 students from ages 2-17. Our lessons also include math, art and history for our older students.

Unlike more fortunate students in developed countries, these children had never experienced extracurricular activities like team sports and dances. At El Niño Rey, we strive to provide all of these experiences.

Along with academic supplies, our donations have allowed us to also provide our students with bicycles to get to and from school.
